Tactical Rules

  • Safety is always first priority, having fun is a close second. If you are warned about safety concern take it as a means of improvement not a personal criticism.  We all want to go home with the same number of holes in our person we came with.  If you are deemed to be an unsafe shooter you will be asked not to come back.
  • It would be appreciated if shooters can show up and hour before the start of the shoot to help set-up the scenarios. Also expect to stay a half our after the shoot to help pick –up the targets and clean up the range. This maximizes time we have to shoot. Actually shooting start time is now 9am for all shoots.
  • If you show up late you won’t be allowed to shoot as it’s not fair to interrupt the time of the shooters who do. This at the discretion of the chairman.
  • Shooters are expected to participate in all aspects of the shoot, which includes timing, counting hits and setting targets.  This ensures that the maximum number of turns for all shooters.
  • If there are shooters who have an interest in 3 gun shooting but don’t have the required equipment required you are invited to come watch. After the shoot if time allows there may be an opportunity to try some of the guns.
  • Gun requirements, magazine feed semi auto rifle, minimum five rounds but better if access to ten round. Magazine feed semi auto pistol, pump or semi-auto shotgun. No 22lr for rifle or pistol as the timers can’t hear the shots.
  • If shooting steel core, steel jacketed, or surplus ammo there will be paper targets set up for those shooters. This is due to damaging the steel targets and possible ricochets.
  • No restrictions on barrel length but any over 19” will be required to shoot at the paper targets, again to minimize damage to the steel targets
  • No slings on any guns as they tend to get tangled with other guns on the rack, if you show up with slings you will be required to remove them prior to participating.
  • Participants should have a holster that locks the pistol in as there is movement and if it falls out you are instantly disqualified. Also required is some means of carrying extra magazines and shot gun ammunition.  It can be either belt carried or a tactical vest.  If carrying a pistol on a vest muzzle direction must be down not back.  If you drop something you are not allowed to pick it up till after the stage is completed.
  • Please have three magazines for pistol and two for rifle. Ammunition requirements, at least 100 rounds of pistol ammo, 40 rounds for rifle and 50 for shotgun.  Actual amount required may differ.
